Introductory Assignment
Note: This assignment covers the Intro Lesson and the Syllabus. The deadline for this assignment is March 1st.
Homework (30 Points Total)
Short Answer Questions (10 Points) - Answer with your own words!
1. What is Herbalism and what Herbology? (2 pts)
2. How many Greenhouses does this class have? (1 pts)
3. What type of herbs and fungi will we cover in each Greenhouse? (3 pts)
4. What book is required for this class and who is the author of the same? (2 pts)
5. How does a true herbologist treat all plants? (2 pts)
Required Resources (20 Points) - Lists and purposes!
The introductory lesson shows us 10 items, not counting the book we'll be using, which are required for this Herbology course. These will be needed throughout the course, some of them you have to purchase and bring by yourself while others are provided by the school and are available in the classroom. Your task now is to list these 10 items and to state what you think their purpose will be in the class. For example:
Shovel - will be required for digging holes and planting our herbs and fungi (not an actual answer)
The purposes you list for the items do not necessarily have to be "true" as correct answers aren't listed in the lesson (so you're meant to think for yourself). For example in the answer above maybe the shovel is actually going to be used for shoveling the snow from the Hogwarts grounds, but I would still give you the points for the effort and because your answer makes sense.
Extra Credit (30 Points Total)
Introduction (10 Points) - Who are you and why are you here?
In a few sentences introduce yourself to me, who you are, why the interest in this class, what other classes you are taking, etc. You can include whatever information you want to, HOL or RL, just DO NOT include personal details (if you decide to talk about the real you just be as vague as possible --- say what you work or what you study, what hobbies you have and how you spend your free time, what is your dream, etc. Do not actually provide personal information). In order to get full points you must include at least a few sentences.
Prepping for Class (20 Points) - Are you ready to do some Herbology?
Please select one of the following (you can do both but you cannot get more than 20 points for this):
1 - Do a small RPG of at least 150 words of you as a student getting ready for your first Herbology class;
2 - Provide a drawing/graphic/doll/etc. of you as a student all ready for your first Herbology class (no attachment, upload your work to a photo hosting site like imgur or tinypic and give me the link to your image).
Regardless of which option you select, when doing your work do keep in mind what you've learned in the lesson.

Once completed, send your work with this line as the subject of the e-mail: Herbs - Intro - HOL ID
Just replace the "HOL ID" part with your actual ID; for example I'd submit it as: Herbs - Intro - zo808
In the body of the e-mail please include your HOL Name, HOL ID, and House. Send your work to zokivphantom[at]gmail.com
Do NOT send class work as attachment, I will not open attachments and this results with -1 house point to your assignment. Everything needs to be in the body of the e-mail. Due date for this assignment is March 1st, 11:59 PM HOL time. Good luck!
